The acronym stands for South East of Scotland Transport Partnership. Their website tells us that they are ‘”one of 7 regional Transport Partnerships in Scotland. Our partnership area includes 8 local authorities, with an area of 3,180 sq miles and is home to 28% of Scotland’s population. ” Well that’s good.

So what do they actually do?

Well for that we have to look at the ‘About Us’ page……where it says…..”On becoming a statutory body under the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005, SEStran was tasked with producing a Regional Transport Strategy for South East Scotland.” Hmmm….

Apart from the serious lack of serious content, the gaps in the webpages have to be seen to be believed….so just in case you don’t believe us……

For comparison we had a look at one of the other Regional Transport bodies. The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport or SPT is responsible for transport issues in Glasgow……
