A little bit of New York is coming to Edinburgh this spring with a free event for home workers at The Melting Pot on Rose Street.

Jelly was started in New York three years ago by a couple of IT freelancers working from home who felt the need to get out more.

A casual co-working event where people come together to work for the day, Jelly now happens in over 100 cities worldwide.

The Edinburgh Jelly is being organised by The Melting Pot, a social enterprise set up to enable people working for more than profit to share workspace, ideas, connections and inspiration.

ā€˜Isolation is one of the biggest challenges of working from home,ā€™ says Managing Director Claire Carpenter, ā€˜Jelly is a friendly way for home workers to get out of their home office for a change of scene, a good chat and a shot of inspiration. Thatā€™s what weā€™re all about at The Melting Pot, so when we heard about Jelly we decided to host one here.ā€™

The Melting Pot will provide free wi-fi access, Fairtrade tea and coffee, workspace and comfy sofas.

Edinburgh Jelly will take place from 2pm to 9pm on Thursday 27 January. For more information see The Melting Potā€™s website
