New chairman at Edinburgh Trams, Vic Emery, has told The Herald that he is hopeful that the mediation process will be completed, and work on the trams will have restarted before the May elections.
The BBC tell us that Edinburgh is the only council which does not offer council run car parks…and reports on the Which survey of the cost of parking. Funnily enough, Edinburgh features amongst the most expensive cities to park in. But do we yet have enough Park n Ride facilities, and a good enough public transport system in the city to justify the cost of parking?

So you will know by know if you have to buy a new hat for April 29, as your invitation will have arrived in the post this morning, according to The Telegraph. If you are invited, then the question of getting a day off work is not really important, since you will need to take a day off anyway. But The Guardian Local has pointed out that the cost of giving The City of Edinburgh Council’s staff the day off would be £320,000 and goes on to point out that The Scottish Government is not allowing staff to take the holiday.
