There are three council consultations which will finish in March and you can find details here. The three are about Easter Craiglockhart Hill, Schools and the Local Transport Strategy.

You are also invited to go to a public drop-in session on the Transport consultation. It will be held in the foyer of the Edinburgh Central Library, George IV Bridge , on Wednesday 6 March 2013, between 0900 and 2000 hrs.

Our Arts Editor David Kettle really enjoyed A Play a Pie and a Pint at The Traverse. The play he reviewed finishes tomorrow lunchtime but there are others! Full details of what is on till 23 March here on the Traverse website.

Councillor Maureen Child reminds us about Portobello Market on Saturday:-“The monthly Portobello Market market is upon us again. All the usual traders will be there of course supplying everything from artisan cheeses and seasonal vegetables to fresh bread, hand-made soaps and real coffee. A full list of the traders is available by clicking on this link It starts at 9.30am in Brighton Park, Brighton Place, Portobello and will go on until 1.30pm.”

Hundreds of people from across Scotland have come together to make a film that captures the essence of the country.

We Are Northern Lights, which had its world premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival, is the brainchild of award winning Scottish filmmaker, Nick Higgins, an academic in Media, Culture and Practice at the University of Edinburgh

The film, which is Scotland’s first mass participation documentary, will be showcased during a tour of major cities in Scotland this month.

The little Cameo is showing no less than six films today, including Argo and Lincoln which have scooped up some awards recently.
