To show that they don’t only run the most exciting café at the Fringe, award winning artists Hunt & Darton bring even more excitement to our lives with a show about being bored.

Boredom is a lively exploration into the highs and lows of being bored. Embrace it, combat it or simply acknowledge it, boredom affects all of us at some time or other. And Hunt & Darton find that rather interesting.

Hunt & Darton bring new moves, wise words, laughter, ‘you do it bits’ and Holly’s bored face to the concept. They are far from bored about this, in fact they are genuinely excited.

“We thought we’d never get bored as creative people,” Holly explains. “So we actively went out to get bored, embrace boredom, investigate boredom and then present our findings.”

And they promise lots of visual and mental stimuli in case anyone gets, well, bored.

“Who isn’t excited by a lot of leopard print”, says Jenny. “It practically does the performance for us.”

Having turned the humble caff into an art form they’re about to do the same with ennui, and if anyone can, Hunt & Darton can.

Hunt & Darton understand the importance of boredom and actively encourage it. It may just change your life.

Hunt & Darton is the Live Art collaboration between artists Jenny Hunt and Holly Darton. The artists combine elements of spoken word, movement, deadpan drollery and improvisation in their experiments playing with the aesthetics of entertainment and performance.

Boredom has been selected for Escalator East To Edinburgh. Each year Escalator, East to Edinburgh helps artists and arts organisations to raise their profile and perform to new audiences as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
