Police Scotland has confirmed that a 39 year old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found on Corstorphine Hill on June 6, 2013.

The discovery sparked a massive police enquiry and detectives appeared on the Crimewatch Roadshow to appeal for help. In addition, a facial reconstruction was prepared by the University of Dundee and was widely circulated in the media.

The victim was identified last week; although her name was not released at that time, however today her identity was confirmed as 66 year old Phyllis Dunleavy of Dublin.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
