How can terrible be so good?

The Really Terrible Orchestra is gearing up for yet another assault on the senses this Saturday at 15:00 at St Mary’s RC Cathedral, at the top of Leith Walk. The orchestra consists of a band of musical misfits of varying degrees of skill, held together by a love of music, the thrill of performance and the prospect of a visit to the pub after each rehearsal.

This year’s programme (the RTO limits its Edinburgh outings to one Fringe concert a year on the grounds of minimising musical cruelty to the public) will be an all new set including music from Mozart and Haydn, songs from Gilbert and Sullivan (The Judge’s song – sung by a real judge) and Lionel Bart (a selection from Oliver!). If Pachelbel’s Canon in D is your favourite classical piece, best bring your ear plugs. If film is your choice, there is music from Star Wars and more besides. It is great fun for all.
