Allan Stewart

Proving that Variety still packs a punch, legendary Scottish comic Allan Stewart has assembled the best talent around for his Big, Big Show at the King’s Theatre. Not content with taking up residence at the King’s for the pantomime run over Christmas, Stewart is now bringing his panto pals Grant Stott and Andy Gray along for more fun and games.

Following their record-breaking season in Peter Pan, Allan has handpicked the performers that show just how ’Britain’s Got Talent’. Edinburgh comic Edward Reid, star on the ITV talent show, brings his unique mix of comedy and music, while the stunning Tootsie Rollers strike the classic chords of 1940s swing, with a sassy show that’s been called ‘The Spice Girls meet the Andrew Sisters’.

Paul Zerdin, heralded as the UK’s most accomplished ventriloquist and the performer to make talking dummies cool, is back in Edinburgh following his 5-star, sell-out show at the Fringe last year. Famed for his polished sets, precision skill and crowd-pleasing performances, Zerdin’s one to see now before the TV career kicks off and the ticket prices soar.

Kate Stewart, scion of the Stewart performing clan, completes the bill, making her singing debut at the King’s after growing up watching her father perform in panto at the Tollcross theatre. Following her success in the lead role of Snow White in Milton Keynes, Kate steps into the limelight to showcase her singer / songwriting skills. Last at the King’s in 2005 when she stepped on stage to perform as ‘mini-May’ (a mini version of her dad’s alter-ego, Aunty May), Kate’s sure to captivate audiences with her unique, distinctive singing style.

Promising a night of big names, big laughs, big songs and big fun, Allan’s Stewart’s Variety has got it all sewn up at the King’s.
