Police Scotland has recovered over £10,000 worth of Class A drugs following an intelligence-led operation in Edinburgh.

Officers executed a drugs search warrant at two addresses in the capital yesterday.

Cocaine to the value of £2,240 and heroin worth £5,600 were seized from a property in Craigour Place, resulting in a 28-year-old man being arrested and cautioned and charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.

A 36-year-old man was also arrested and cautioned and charged with the supply of drugs after a search of an address in Cameron Terrace uncovered £2,800 worth of heroin and £1,035 in cash.

Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness welcomed the recovery. He said: “These properties were searched as a result of a thorough intelligence-gathering phase and the activity should send out a message that our officers will act positively on information we receive about drugs crime. Police Scotland is committed to tackling serious and organised crime groups working in our communities.

“This is a clear example of our commitment to removing drugs from the streets of the communities we police, and anyone with any information that could lead to similar arrests should contact Police Scotland on 101 immediately or, alternatively, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
