The Edinburgh Reporter attended the Better Together press conference at the Royal Highland Show in a very small hot room in the Highland Hall. It was a meeting of only a small part of the larger Better Together group set up to represent the interests of farmers in Scotland which is known as Rural Better Together.

Although the aim of the meeting was to talk to farmers and those involved with food production, The Edinburgh Reporter was given the chance to conduct a brief interview with the Edinburgh MP who leads the overarching body battling to ensure that a majority of Scots votes no on 18 September 2014.

SONY DSCThe MP for Edinburgh South West is the former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Alistair Darling who now fronts the Better Together campaign and who was keen to be quite visible at the show in the last 90 days or so of campaigning.  He was accompanied by George Lyon the outgoing LibDem MEP (and Daisy the Limousin cow!)
