2011_10 Police signs 12

A quantity of firearms were recovered yesterday during a police search of a house in Niddrie House Drive.

Bomb disposal experts are currently examining the weapons and there is no threat to public safety.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Following a search of an address in Niddrie House Drive on Thursday, July 10, police discovered items believed to be firearms.

“The EOD have been contacted to assess the objects and ensure they are made safe.

“There is no evidence to suggest any risk to the public and inquiries are ongoing.”
