Edinburgh Trams Murrayfield

Four people were arrested before and during last night’s clash between Celtic and Reykjavik at Murrayfield.

One man was arrested for discharging a flare in Haymarket Terrace before the match, while three more were arrested for a pitch incursion during the game.

Around 40,000 fans attended the Champions League game which Celtic won easily.

The game was played in Edinburgh due to Celtic Park being used for the Commonwealth Games.

A spokesman for Transport for Edinburgh said trams had carried thousands of fans to and from the stadium. He said: “It was very busy, but it all seemed to go very smoothly. All the fans were cleared and away from Murrayfield by about 10.30pm.”
