A large crowd assembled at Musselburgh’s historic Hayweights Clock on Wednesday evening to see the sashing of Honest Lad, Gary Neill and Honest Lass, Lynsey Soutar.
The Honest Lad and Lad of 2014 were sashed with the emblems of their office by Mrs Sheila Booker.
The Burgh Flag was then handed over to the Honest Lad by the Civic Head, Councillor Fraser McAllister, under the provision that it would be returned ‘unsullied and unstained’ after the ride-out this Saturday afternoon.
The Honest Lass was presented with the Jewelled Riding Crop before the ceremony ended with the Official Party dancing the Musselburgh and Eightsome Reels.

do you have any pictures of the Musselburgh Festival junior ride on Wednesday 23 July 2014 prior to the sashing ceremony. possible article 79703? I cant see anything. thanks
