This is Ceilidh’s wee sister, Ready Steady Ceilidh! is for all the family, hosted by Iain Stirling (comedian and BAFTA Nominated CBBC Presenter) and brings together the best Scottish traditional musicians with award-winning theatre makers. It’s a chance for the whole family to get up, dance and learn the secrets of Scotland’s most famous shindig.

Come prepared to be thrilled (and exhausted)! Ready Steady Ceilidh! is a full hour of fun dancing, jokes and amazing music for anyone aged 6+

Iain Stirling hosts the show

Iain Stirling is a stand-up comedian and BAFTA nominated presenter. He can currently be seen hosting The Dog Ate My Homework on CBBC which is returning for a new series later this year. He has also recently completed filming on the forthcoming show Help! My School Trip is Magic, and the fourth series of All Over the Place, (this time in Australia), both to be aired later in 2014.

As one of the most exciting up-and-coming stand-up comedians Iain has been guest support to acts including Russell Kane and Rhod Gilbert on national tours. He was nominated for a Chortle Award for Best Newcomer and has appeared in the stand-up spot on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3), as well as being a panelist on the last series of Sweat the Small Stuff (BBC3) and a featured comic for Yahoo!’s Fringe in Five special for the Edinburgh Festival in 2013.

Throughout the festival, a collaboration of Scotland’s best traditional musicians featuring Martin O’Neill (toured with Stevie Wonder and plays with Celtic supergroup Treacherous Orchestra), Lorne MacDougall (contributor to Disney-Pixar film Brave), Hayley McInnes (Pipe Band Shotts & Dykhead Caledonia), Ewan Robertson (former BBC Scotland Young Musician) and Megan Henderson (of Award winning Breabach) will lead the lineup.
