Dan Clark: Me, My Selfie and I, Pleasance Dome 8:20pm, until 24 August, £12.50 (£11.50 concessions)

Best known as the creator and star of the BBC’s How Not To Live Your Life (a hilarious sitcom which vanished from our screens far too soon), Dan Clark has returned to stand-up with a collection of polished and proficiently delivered stories about him, himself and his world.

Comedic music stints and effective uses of lighting set several scenes very well as Clark delves into his everyday life with a respectable amount of honesty and bluntness.

Twelve years of being single has led him to contemplate what his father had achieved by the time he was 38, with dating dilemmas being a central part of the show.

It’s not all bleak though; a new girlfriend and upcoming TV project could propel Clark out of his current rut, providing more material for next year’s show which, if delivered with the same laid back and engaging style, will make for another enjoyable evening.
