TER Fire Engine

Police Scotland officers in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following a fire in the south west of the city this morning.

Enquiries are underway after a blaze at a flat in Oxgangs Place at around 8.30am.
No one was injured during the incident but the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are inspecting the extent of the damage and Police Scotland is now carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened.

Inspector Nigel Thacker, who is based at Corstorphine Police Station, said: “Thankfully no one was hurt but we are obviously keen to find out how the fire started. Anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information which may help with the investigation is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
