police scotlandFurther appeal for witnesses, Eyre Place

Police in Edinburgh are continuing their appeal for witnesses following the serious sexual assault of a 21 year old woman on Eyre Place around 4am yesterday morning.

Officers have now traced the good samaritan who came to the victim’s aid but detectives are still looking to trace a man described as Asian appearance, aged 20 to 30 years old, short dark hair, smartly dressed, wearing a blazer, and who may have left in a silver coloured car.

Detective Inspector Keith Fairbairn said: “I’d like to thank all those who came forward with information but our appeal to the public is ongoing.

“We are very keen to speak to any taxi drivers that may have been in the area of Eyre Place Edinburgh between 3am  and 4am on the morning of Wednesday 8th October”.

Anyone who has information that can assist should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
