PizzaExpress opens at Fort Kinnaird.Guess how many pizzas will be eaten at the new PizzaExpress in the first month?

A whopping 8,000! And you can get yours with 25% off – see below.

Pizza lovers in Edinburgh are in for a treat with the new PizzaExpress which has just opened at Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park. The new restaurant, which can seat 110, means jobs for 42 new team members including 12 pizzaiolos and 25 waiters and waitresses.  An estimated 1,200 kilos of dough will be used in the first month as the team prepares to serve up 8,000 pizzas and 1,500 portions of PizzaExpress’ iconic Dough Balls.

Each PizzaExpress restaurant is individually designed – often using well known places, people or historical events from the area as the basis. Inspiration for the new Edinburgh restaurant comes from the near-by port. The design reflects the styling of old ships, using oak timber flooring and paneling. Artwork features images taken from Fisherrow Harbour with screens styled on sail boat masts.

Jamie Fleming, manager of PizzaExpress Edinburgh Fort Kinnaird, said, “We will have a beautiful new restaurant and can’t wait to show it off to our customers. We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.”

Liam Smith, Centre Manager at Fort Kinnaird, added, “Everybody knows and loves Pizza Express. It is firm favourite with adults and kids alike and it is for this reason we know it will be a popular addition here.”

The opening is just in time for PizzaExpress’ Christmas menu which is bursting with festive treats including two new starters, two festive pizzas, including one featuring duck, and two new desserts – Mince Pie Cheesecake and Chocolate Tartufo. Plus Snowball Dough Balls are back.

For younger pizza-lovers, PizzaExpress’ Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.50.  And for budding chefs looking to celebrate a birthday, a Pizza Making Party will see them transformed into pizzaiolos so they can stretch, toss and top their own pizza and play party games before sitting down to enjoy their culinary creations.
