Police  are appealing for witnesses after a ten year old boy was assaulted and robbed of his bike by two  teenagers in Sibbalds  Brae Bathgate around 12.30pm on Monday

The victim was cycling when the two suspects approached him, demanded his bike, before punching and pushing him which caused him to fall to the ground before stealing his bike.

They were last seen cycling off in the direction of Bathgate town centre.

The suspects are described as white boys in their early teens, roughly 13-14 years old, 5ft tall, with a slim build. The first one was wearing a blue tracksuit.

The second was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, white from the knee up, shiny red Ferrari shoes and riding a mountain bike.

The stolen bike is described a satin blue GT Fly BMX, with a blue front wheel and black rear wheel.

Detective Constable Stephen McCormick said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young boy, which has left him badly shaken. He is also distressed from the loss of his bike.”

“We are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the suspects, or who recognise the description of them or the stolen bike, to come forward.”
