The Princess Royal paid a return visit to the Erskine Home at Gilmerton today to declare a corridor open!

She had already officially opened the two parts of the building in years past, and now came back to see the link corridor and unveil a commemorative plaque.

Her Royal Highness spent over two hours speaking to residents and meeting staff and families.

The Edinburgh Reporter was able to get exclusive access to film the visit and interview the CEO of Erskine Hospital and the Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh who welcomed the Royal visitor again today.

  1. Great article forwarded by my sister and nephew. My Dad now 102 has been a resident at Erskine for 1 year and could not be in a better place. I visited with him over the Christmas and New Year holidays as I live in San Antonio Texas and usually plan a trip home at least once a year. My sister and Dad enjoyed the royal visit and it was nice to see them on the film. Thanks again for a great article.
    Sincerely Eleanor Egger.
