The two people who were detained yesterday at an address in Easter Drylaw in connection to an ongoing investigation into an armed robbery at Laing the Jewellers in Frederick Street on Monday have been released without charge.

A man entered the jewellers at 9.30am on Monday and threatened staff with a gun before grabbing between 12-15 watches valued in the region of £100,000.

He then ran off into Rose street then Hanover Stree where he hijacked a private hire car.

He was last seen at the corner of Pilton Drive North and Royston Mains Crescent.
