Police have recovered a significant quantity of Class B drugs from a business premises on Nile Grove.

Acting on intelligence, officers executed a warrant at Tiki Tots, a private play centre for young children, and found a quantity of cannabis plants with a maximum street value of ÂŁ64,800 in the loft space.

This recovery was part of Police Scotland’s commitment to tackling serious and organised crime in the Edinburgh area and involved both local and specialist resources, including officers from the Organised Crime & Counter Terrorism Unit.

Police are currently pursuing a positive line of enquiry to find those responsible for the cultivation.

Detective Inspector Paul Grainger said: “This building was regularly occupied by young children and their parents who were completely unaware of the cannabis which was being grown within.

“Acting upon intelligence, we executed a search of the premises and made a sizeable drugs recovery.

“Our engagement with the public provides us with invaluable information and by working together we have ensured the safety of local parents and their children, as well as the wider community which these drugs were destined for.”
