police scotland 3At around 11.15 last night there was an altercation between two women and a man and woman on Springwell Place which resulted in serious injury.

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses.

The incident continued onto Dalry Road.

A 33-year-old woman sustained various injuries to her head and body and required hospital treatment. A 22-year-old woman sustained minor head injuries.

The first suspect is described as a white man, 5ft 9inches tall, gaunt appearance, with a slim build. He was wearing a grey cotton hooded tracksuit top and trousers.

The second suspect is a white female, 5ft 9inches tall, in her late 20s, with a slim build. She had dark hair in a bun, a gaunt appearance, and an Edinburgh accent. She was wearing light-coloured skinny jeans and black flat sandals.

DC Joyce Gunderson said: “We’re urging any witnesses who may be able to assist with our enquiries to come forward.

“We’re particularly eager to speak to a taxi driver who took the victims from Dalry Road to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary shortly after the incident.”
