Thousands of Hibs fans are being given the chance to ‘sign up’ for the club and help raise funds for the Hibernian Community Foundation at the same time.

Seven teams – each led by a top Hibs player or by manager Alan Stubbs – are set to be entered into this year’s Great Scottish Walk and Run Festival. First team players Sam Stanton, Danny Handling, Paul Hanlon, Jason Cummings, David Gray and Jordon Forster are all set to lead the charge to raise cash for the Hibs charity, alongside boss Alan Stubbs.

Fans can sign up by visiting the official Great Scottish Walk and Run Festival website – www.greatscottishwalkandrun.co.uk – and registering for one of the Hibernian Community Foundation Teams.

Participants are also invited to attend a kick-off event at Easter Road stadium at 6.30pm on 19 May, where club sports scientist Craig Flannigan will lead a warm up session and practice lap of the pitch. And even if you haven’t signed up before 19 May, come along on the night and we can get you signed up there and then!

The actual event itself takes place in Holyrood Park on 21 June and offers a choice of activities to suit all abilities – from walking 10k or 20k, to running 5k or 10k. And there’s even a Golden Mile Walk with 1, 2 and 3 mile routes, and a Great Scottish Toddle for the under 6s.
