Police are appealing for witnesses after an expensive Apple computer was stolen from a property in Guardwell Crescent around 7.30am this morning.

The owner is very keen to recover the computer since his son has autism and relies on it to connect with the world.

Officers are now keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist with their enquiries.

Sergeant Heather MacIntyre said: “Any theft is an upsetting occurrence for the victim but it is especially so in the case where the equipment provides a lifeline for a disadvantaged young person.

“We are very keen to hear from anyone who has information that can help us with this enquiry and especially if you have been offered a silver Apple Macbook with a dent on the lid.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
