Hearts have announced another fixture to their busy pre-season schedule. Robbie Neilson’s SPFL Championship winning side will travel to Preston North End – who also won promotion at the end of last season via the play-offs – on Saturday 18 July.

Hearts last played at Deepdale in July 2006 when first half goals from Roman Bednar and Saulius Mikoliunas gave the Maroons a 2-1 victory. More than 2,000 of the Maroon Army headed for Lancashire that day to see a useful exercise for the then Scottish Cup holders who were preparing for their forthcoming Champions League qualifier.

Hearts visit to Preston this time around is sure to see a similar number of fans make the trip south. Admission is £10 and the kick-off is 3.00pm.

Hearts return to pre-season training this Friday.
