A man has been arrested and charged following a firearms discharge 2hich took place in the early hours of Wednesday 11th March outside an address in Kenilworth Drive.

No one was injured and Police Scotland has since been conducting various enquiries into the offence.

The 24-year-old will appear in court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “We are committed to tackling serious organised crime and associated offences including the possession and discharge of firearms.

“Incidents such as these are rare within Edinburgh but when they do occur we will utilise all resources at our disposal to bring those responsible to justice.

“I would urge our communities to contact us on 101 if they have any information relating to the use or whereabouts of firearms. Alternatively, they can pass on information anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”
