It’s time to cull the human race.
But how is a lifelong believer in non-violence to choose?
By making a list.
A culling list.

Sameena Zehra – Homicidal Pacifist

Following a critically acclaimed international tour, Homicidal Pacifist, the show from a pacifist with a culling list (what?), Sameena Zehra, is returning to The Stand Comedy Club at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Combining the weight of political opinions with her particular brand of caustic, dark humour, in a ‘playfully demonic’ (Tony Allen) show, Sameena Zehra explores the sublime, the ridiculous, and whether there is hope for the human race. On balance, there is. Maybe. Possibly. Who knows.

This whirlwind hour of comedy and storytelling will have audiences exploring their own inner ‘homicidal pacifist’ as they pen a culling list of their own.

A blues singer/songwriter and accomplished actor who has worked at the National Theatre, toured internationally with the Royal Shakespeare Company and played the Apollo Theatre in Harlem with Salman Rushdie’s ‘Midnight Children’, Sameena Zehra has recently turned her hand to stand-up comedy, writing and performing solo hour shows for the last four years.

2015 will be Sameena Zehra’s fourth Edinburgh Festival Fringe appearance and second season of Homicidal Pacifist, her follow-up show to her popular and acclaimed debut storytelling show, Tea With Terrorists.

‘Homicidal Pacifist was very much in its infancy in its 2014 Edinburgh Fringe season; four festivals later, I’m excited to be bringing the show back in its more complete form.’ says Sameena Zehra.

In just over four years of writing and performing stand-up comedy, Sameena Zehra has toured her shows to festivals internationally, including Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Perth Fringe World, Brighton Fringe, Manchester Fringe and Camden Fringe.
