Love-Food-LogoA new art show opening in Linlithgow this week is something of a family affair.

Love Food, at the town’s Line Gallery, is an exhibition of work by Edinburgh artist and designer Julia Murden and her daughters Hayley, 28, and Harriet, 23.

They have spent the past year working on ideas in keeping with a month-long celebration of food and drink in Linlithgow.

The exhibition features more than 30 paintings and photographs. Julia’s segment is based on Food and Foody Places she Loves, Hayley’s is entitled Watercolour Fruit, while Harriet’s is called Drink of Ages.

Julia, who runs art and graphic design company Vizualedinburgh, said: “It has been a year of hard work preparing for this and personally very enjoyable.
“We have each taken a subject area within the overall theme to provide a broad interpretation of food and drink in art.”

Some of the food and drink featured in the paintings and photographs will be provided free to taste at the opening afternoon between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday 5 September.

Love Food runs from 5 September until the end of the month.
