Craigentinny Community Centre will be hosting a Cancer Support Group monthly, on Thursday evenings, from Thursday, August 20th. This new initiative targeting the Eastern areas of Edinburgh, and beyond to East Lothian, aims to support everyone who has been touched by cancer, either directly or within the family.

Supported by Macmillan, Topic of Cancer representative Marian Anderson set up the group in order to make cancer support available in a more easily accessible venue for people living in and around the Craigentinny area.

The Craigentinny Cancer Support Group will be launched by the founder of the charity, Nigel Lewis-Baker, who returns to Edinburgh for the first meeting.

Nigel, a veteran campaigner for more community involvement in the lives of cancer patients and their families, was last in the city when he undertook the challenging John O’Groats to Lands End walk in aid of the Prostate Project.
