A 28-year-old man has been arrested following s spate of housebreaking in the west end of Edinburgh.

Between June and August a number of break ins were reported to police and dedicated housebreaking officers have since been investigating each of these incidents.

A search of an address in Morrison Crescent was carried out on 29th July and various items of stolen property were recovered from within.

A 28-year-old man was subsequently detained on Wednesday 6th August and interviewed in connection with seven thefts following break-ins to properties in Gardiners Crescent, Upper Grove Place, Dalry Road and Torphicen Street.

He was charged with each of these crimes as well as two other housebreaking-related offences in Lothian Road and Morrison Street.

The man is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
