Police in West Lothian are urging owners and drivers of Ford Transit vans to take additional measures to secure their vehicles following an increase in thefts.

The latest incidents occurred in Barton Terrace, Fauldhouse in the early hours of 27th August 2015 where a distinctive Sport Edition Ford Transit was stolen. This vehicle is blue with white stripes.

Another white Ford Transit was stolen during the same time period from Gardner Terrace, Stoneyburn.

The suspects are using a keyless method to overcome the security of the vehicle allowing it to be started and driven away.

Officers are advising motorists to ensure their vehicles are locked, to consider using tracker systems and to use steering or gear stick locks.

Officers are also urging anyone with information about these incidents to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant David Black said: “Anyone who has any information as to the whereabouts of any of these vans or indeed who is responsible is asked to contact us in the Community Investigation Unit at Livingston Police Office using the 101 number.”

If you have information about a crime you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
