Botanic Lights returns this year with 22 nights at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), running from 29 October to 22 November.  The idea is that you walk around the garden at night and are entertained by sights and sounds along a trail designed to show you the colours of four seasons.

There are projections and music, with voice activated sensors which allow you to really talk to the trees.

Botanic Lights is presented by the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in association with Scotland’s leading independent event producers Unique Events, working in partnership with lighting, AV and sound specialists Black Light.

A spokesman for Unique Events said: “Unique Events are pleased to be returning to the Garden this autumn. This year we will explore the Seasons in Colour with an ambitious light and sound event featuring interactive experiences, show pieces and installation art. It’s great to be back among the plants.”

Botanic Lights 2015 – Seasons in Colour has been designed by leading Scottish lighting artist Grant Anderson working with composer Claire McKenzie to create a unique night-time experience, themed around the elements and the changing of the seasons, celebrating a year in Edinburgh through the eyes and ears of The Royal Botanic Garden’s plant life.

A spokesman for Black Light said: “We are delighted to be in partnership with Unique Events and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh to bring an enchanting event that all the family will enjoy. We have been working on the outdoor event for many months and are extremely excited for it to begin.”
