Hibs’ Head Coach Alan Stubbs has praised his players’ patience during yesterday’s 1-0 win over Alloa Athletic yesterday, a result which sees the club climb to joint top of the table, level on points with Rangers who have a game in hand.

A second half goal from on-form striker Jason Cummings secured the three points although Hibs totally dominated possession and could have won by a much larger margin.

Speaking immediately after the game to Cliff Pike of Hibs TV he said: “When you look at the game, our goal was never really threatened and it was just a matter of us being a little bit patient.

“You have to give the players credit and I said to them at half time that we have to find a way to win when things are not going well.

“The pitch is not great and it does put you on the back foot with your first touch and it can put an element of doubt in your mind.

“When you take that into account it was a performance of a team who have been on a really good run. We haven’t played well but we know how to win.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game, but the most important thing is that we won 1-0. You look at teams who are looking to win leagues and they have to go away, they have to roll their sleeves up and they have to win games by sometimes a scruffy 1-0, by sometimes a comfortable 4-0.

“You have to be able to be adaptable to each game, because they are all very different on their own merits – today was one of them
