police accident signEdinburgh Police are investigating the circumstances of a road collision at around 6am this morning following which a man is in a serious condition at the Royal Infirmary.

The incident involved a male pedestrian and a private refuse vehicle on Gorgie Park Road, Edinburgh.

The pedestrian has been taken to the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh to be treated for his injuries where he is said to be in a serious condition.

Gorgie Park Road is currently closed but the traffic is flowing normally on Gorgie Road.

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Sergeant Ross Drummond said: “This collision has left a man with serious injuries and we are keen to speak to anyone with information that can help us with our inquiries.
