Two men have appeared in court after police seized a large quantity of heroin from a property in Edinburgh.

The 36-year-old and 58-year-old were arrested and charged following the execution of a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Citadel Court on Tuesday 26 January.

Edinburgh’s Proactive Unit seized a quantity of diamorphine with a street value of £150,000 and associated paraphernalia.

The men made their first appearance before Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

Detective Inspector Alan O’Brien said: “This is a significant quantity of drugs that have been taken out of circulation. The supply and misuse of drugs is a priority for police in the North of Edinburgh, and I would appeal for anyone with information about drug dealing to contact their local officers on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
