A police investigation is ongoing after a  40-year-old man was attacked by three men around 4.45am on New Year’s Day  in Rowan Street, Blackburn, West Lothian.

The victim was found lying in a parking spot in the street and detectives are appealing for witnesses.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Detective Sergeant Dennis Langton said: “The man was found lying injured and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen him before the attack or who saw the incident itself.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact us by calling 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
