Deer Park could be facing an “emergency” situation in the coming months if members of the Scottish Police Recreation Association and Fire & Rescue Services are “on par” with a new partnering scheme to enable them to spend a bit more time on the golf course when they are not answering emergency calls and helping keep members of the public safe!
The Golf and Country Club has offered special “2 for 1” and “4 for 2” rates on standard green fee rates for golf at Deer Park with an unlimited amount of times available. It anticipates that those in the emergency services will take advantage of this opportunity to play golf together when they are on rest days, although the offers will also apply to those retired from the services.
Brian Inglis, Golf Sales Manager at Deer Park, takes up the story: “We are always looking at opportunities here at Deer Park and have hosted groups of fire fighters and police officers in the past, as well as groups from the NHS and other public bodies. Often they are working shifts and so are available to make more of their leisure time. We thought it would be a good idea to offer them these special rates as it would be a great stress buster to get out on the course after a busy shift, and they can use the golf as an unofficial teambuilding operation too.”

Due to working long and irregular shift patterns, it can be difficult for our members to use a golf membership regularly enough to receive value for money therefore deals such as that offered by Deer Park allow them to enjoy a round of golf at an affordable price.”

Last year Deer Park undertook an ambitious refurbishment of key public spaces such as the Bowling complex, Monarchs restaurant and Champions Lounge.
Brian said: “Feedback from members of the public and club members has been very positive. We want to continue to show off the club.”
