2011_10 Police signs 5

The two men appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today in connection with a road traffic collision on Ferry Road Drive which  took place shortly before 5.30pm on 3 February and involved a Vauxhall Astra and a Peugeot 206.

A 53-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with non-life threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old has been charged with seven road traffic offences, theft of a motor vehicle and theft by housebreaking.

The 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and two counts of theft by housebreaking.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Edinburgh Divisional Road Policing Unit and officers in the North worked together to conduct extensive enquiries in order to trace the suspects.

“As part of Operation RAC, officers from various departments across the Capital continue to tackle housebreaking and vehicle theft.
