Police ScotlandPolice in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses after a man made an indecent remark to a woman in Leith.

The incident took place at around 3pm on Thursday 21 April when a 48-year-old woman was walking on Easter Road.

An unknown man, who was standing outside a building near the junction with Gordon Street, made an indecent remark towards her.

He is described as a white man with a tanned complexion, possibly of Polish origin, and aged around 22 years old.

He was 5ft 5inches tall, with a slim build, thick blonde hair and a swooping fringe.

He was wearing a white hoodie with bright green stripes and dark trousers.

PC Scott McCluskey of Edinburgh’s Public Protection Unit said: “This was a distressing incident for the woman and we’re working to establish the full circumstances.

“We’re urging anyone who may have seen the man described in the area around this time, or who recognises his description, to come forward.

“Anyone with any other information which can assist with our investigation is also urged to get in touch.”
