Police are renewing an appeal for information to help trace 41-year-old  Elizabeth Armour, who also goes under the surname Hughes who was reported missing to police on Monday, April 25.

Elizabeth is known to frequent homeless hostels and food banks and police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen a woman matching her description to get in touch.

It is out of character for Elizabeth to go missing and police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

She has links throughout Scotland particularly in Bonnyrigg and Aberdeen as well as in Ballymena in Northern Ireland.

Police Scotland is now appealing to anyone who may have seen or spoken to Elizabeth to come forward.

Sergeant David Hughes, who is based in Edinburgh’s Gayfield police station said: “It has been several days since anyone saw or spoke to Elizabeth so we are keen to trace her as quickly as possible.

“Although she is from Edinburgh and knows the city well we are keeping an open mind to the possibility that she has travelled elsewhere in Scotland or to Northern Ireland.

“I would urge anyone who has seen or who has information that might assist with our ongoing investigation to contact police on 101 quoting the incident number 1358 of April 25th.

“I also appeal to Elizabeth to please let us know that you are okay if you see this appeal.”
