Police are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance at a funeral last week.

The incident happened sometime between 2 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Friday 22nd April at the Portobello Cemetery in East Milton Road.

Local officers attended following reports from members of the public of two men arguing with one another and causing disruption.

During this time it is believed both individuals sustained various injuries.

Anyone who can assist police with their inquiries into this matter are asked to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray said: “This incident caused great distress to those who were paying their respects to lost loved ones and we will not tolerate such inappropriate behaviour.

“We believe that many mourners within the cemetery will have seen what happened and will be able to provide information that can help with our investigation.

“Those individuals are asked to contact police immediately.”
