David Gray admits that Falkirk are a good side who have made things difficult for Hibs this season however the captain knows that if he and his team mates play to the level that they can, there is no reason to think that they won’t progress to the play-off final against Kilmarnock.

So far this season, Hibs have played the Bairns four times, winning one and drawing three. The last time they played, Hibs were two goals up with Falkirk down to ten men before a late comeback saw Peter Houston’s men score two late goals to secure a valuable three points.

That night, the Falkirk players celebrated in front of their own supporters at full time as if they had been promoted and the Hibs’ fans are looking for revenge.

Gray also paid tribute to the Hibs’ fans who cheered the team on to victory against Raith Rovers on Saturday and is looking for more of the same tonight.

Speaking to Hibs TV, he said:”We are feeling confident, especially after the result at the weekend. You can only take confidence from that and there was a real spring in the step of the lads coming into training ahead of the Falkirk match.

“We knew before the Raith Rovers game what we had to do, dealing with the disappointment from the first leg. we needed to start the game fast which we did and we got the early goal and another straight after that.

“I think it’s a good thing that we’re going straight back to Easter Road. It’s a great surface to play on and it suits the way we play.

“At the same time, the fans went away from the game full of the confidence and happy. To be coming straight back with a mentality of getting right behind the side can only be a good thing.

“Falkirk are well organised. They have made it difficult for us and we are expecting it to be the same again but we know that on our day we can beat anyone. Hopefully we can do that and progress to the final.

“If you look around our dressing room there is real character and determination to achieve good things at the club.”
