Children from the After School Club run by Gingerbread have produced art for auction to raise funds for new equipment.

The Edinburgh Reporter went to a very special auction viewing this week when we were able to meet the artists as well as have a look at what is for sale.

The After School Club at Dalry Primary School is one of five branches in Edinburgh run by Gingerbread and Iain Cameron who is Manager of the Dalry After School Club has organised a novel way for the children to raise funds for the club.

Iain Cameron explained: “Lyon & Turnbull are running the auction for us and will add that professional edge. We hope they manage to get the reward that the children deserve for the art which they have created.”

The children have created pieces of art which Lyon & Turnbull will auction tomorrow in the gym at Dalry Primary School. The funds will be used to buy games that the children have chosen. There is no external funding for Gingerbread which is a charity for single parents, so the children themselves have to raise the funds.

We met Vlad (9) and Ghazal (6) who explained their artwork to us.
