2016INTHEWI_CWJava Dance Theatre presents the most delicious smelling dance show ever In the Wine

Inspired by wine makers from New Zealand and France, this innovative approach to dance immerses the audience in an hour of delicious smelling live music, ritual and revelry. From sordid spicy tango atop barrels, spice explosions and confetti filled weddings to debauched drumming and luscious grape feeding, the dancers and musicians of Java Dance Theatre take the audience on a seductive ride through their most eventful vintage yet.

Once again New Zealand’s Sacha Copland re-invents immersive dance. In this year’s return to the Edinburgh Fringe, Java Dance Theatre brings not only their newest scented offering In the Wine but also a return season of the popular Back of the Bus, a dance theatre show on a moving bus.. These distinctly different offerings share Java’s traits of audience immersion, the full sensory experience of sound, sight, smell, taste and touch, emotional connection and physical articulation.
