Edinburgh recruitment firm Edgar Stewart has hired someone to join its own board of directors.

Sara Zorriasatein who runs water and energy recruitment firm Cyrus has been appointed. She has helped grow the turnover of Edgar Stewart to nearly £3 million from £500,000 since starting Cyrus based in Stockbridge.

Sara took the plunge by investing in the business with a matched investment from Edgar Stewart who also provided support through their business incubator.

Born and brought up in Edinburgh Sara worked for seven years at Hays with some focus on Scottish Water and Dalkia (later (Veolia) at Cameron Distillery where a biomass plant was installed to create energy from waste.

Bruce Hydes, founding director at Edgar Stewart, which has pledged to invest £120k in Scottish recruitment start-ups this year, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Sara to the board of directors.

“She has already played a huge part in helping to grow the organisation and we look forward to further benefiting from her expertise and business savvy.”

Sara said: “I’m looking forward to taking on the extra challenge of director at Edgar Stewart.

“It’s a pleasure to work with such a forward-thinking firm which is genuinely bucking the trend and helping to change the face of recruitment.”
