The Lincoln Company bring their adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Company to Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

At the age of 25, Bobbi should be finding the one. When her friends aren’t fighting or lying to their soulmates they worry about their poor baby, Bobbi. She’s all alone, but to her commitment is unthinkable; constantly sharing, caring, compromising would be insufferable. But every day she finds it harder to justify the single life she used to enjoy. Sondheim’s masterpiece about New York’s most eligible bachelor is remixed for the 21st century. The first concept musical is transformed into a story of modern loneliness, independence and self-discovery. Regardless of who we love, don’t we all still need company?

Director Stacie Cavell, returns after last year’s sell out run of The Addams Family Musical, in a production that brings new relevance to a masterpiece. She has reinvented the play by changing some character’s gender and/or sexuality. Cavell’s decision to do this came after she assistant directed a production of the musical last year and was inspired to change them to represent 2016 New York rather than 1970s New York. Sondheim’s goal for Company was to reflect society back on its self and this production is no different.
