Police were called to an address in the Lawnmarket at around 1:50pm this afternoon after receiving a report of concern for a male occupant.

An area around the Lawnmarket was subsequently cordoned off to pedestrians and traffic as officers worked to resolve this incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that a disturbance reported at an address in the Lawnmarket earlier today came to a peaceful conclusion at around 4pm.

“A man has since been detained in relation to this matter.

“Local roads have been fully reopened and the public is thanked for their patience and cooperation.”
