Hibs Head Coach Neil Lennon was happy with his team’s performance in yesterday’s 2-1 home win over Dunfermline Athletic at Easter Road, apart from a brief spell after the visitors equalised.

Scotland’s biggest crowd of the day witnessed Hibs take a first half lead when Ben Richards-Everton headed past his own keeper whilst under pressure from Grant Holt.

On loan Hearts forward Gavin Reilly’s levelled the scoring after 57 minutes before Jason Cummings wrapped things up with 13 minutes remaining.

Speaking after the game, Lennon said: We dominated the game for long periods. We’ve had umpteen chances on goal and  could have been two or three up at half-time.

“We had good control of the game but we switched off and they scored a very good goal and for five minutes we wobbled and we have to learn to manage that better, good players making basic errors for no reason . It’s just the psychology of the game.

“After that they settled and we looked all right again and scored a great goal.

“I’m very happy, it’s not easy in this league but that’s two wins out of two so I’ve got to be very pleased and the fans were pleased with what they saw.

“Dunfermline will give teams problems.”

When questioned about reports that the club have been linked with Scotland international Andrew Shinnie, Lennon said: “We’ve made contact with Birmingham City and we’re waiting to hear from the player now.

“It would be a loan. We’ll see how that goes, he’s a player I’ve liked for a long, long time and his availability came to us. We made an approach for him so we’re waiting to hear now.

“I want to bring players in to strengthen what we’ve got because we’ve not done a lot of business. If we can do that it will give us more strength and depth.”
