Police are appealing for witnesses and issuing a warning to vehicle owners following the theft of two high-performance cars in Bathgate.

Both incidents took place between 1 a.m and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at homes in Jardine Place.

During both offences, the houses were broken into and the car keys taken, which were then used to steal the vehicle.

The first car taken was a white Lexus 4 door Saloon registration number GN58 TFX.

The second vehicle taken was a black Mercedes ML350 registration number CM02 SNR.

Officers believe both these incidents are linked and are urging anyone who can assist with their inquiries to come forward.

Detective Constable Craig Leckie from Livingston Police Station said “ We are looking for anybody who may have saw anything suspicious in the Jardine Place during the early hours of today.

“In addition, anyone with any further information that can help us trace the suspects is also asked to contact police immediately.

“The public are advised to take all the necessary security steps to safeguard their homes and vehicles, such as locking your cars, house doors and windows at night and ensuring keys and other valuables are appropriately hidden from view.

“Where possible also consider alarms, security lighting and trackers and immobilisers for cars.”
